How to justify absences to the employer?

If you are in quarantine or isolation, the Health Authority in your area of residence or the clinician who accompanies you will issue a statement attesting to the need for this social isolation. This declaration must then be handed over to the employer, who in turn sends it to Social Security.

If you have COVID-19, the doctor will issue the Certificate of Temporary Incapacity for work (Internment and extension for the period you are at home in isolation).

If quarantine has been determined by the Health Authority in your area of residence, it will issue a statement justifying the need for this social removal.

The Health Authority will send the scan of the Declaration issued to the worker via email. This declaration must be delivered within 5 days to the employer (by electronic means). The employer must send, through Direct Social Security, the digitization of the Declaration issued by the Health Authority.

The original document must be collected at the Public Health Unit as soon as the isolation period ends.

In the case of isolation of a child under the age of 12, or with a disabling illness, or with a chronic illness that requires face-to-face care, and needs to request the family assistance allowance, the parent/guardian/caregiver must, as usual, request the subsidy through Social Security Direct, and attach the digitization of the Declaration issued by the Health Authority relating to the child.
