What to do if symptoms develop or worsen during quarantine or isolation?
If you develop symptoms or experience worsening of your health, you should call the SNS24 line (808242424) or, if the seriousness justifies it, 112. If you have been provided with the contact of a health professional who will monitor your case, should preferably use this route.
You should pay special attention to the following symptoms:
- reappearance, worsening or persistence of fever;
- difficulty breathing or shortness of breath;
- intense and abnormal fatigue;
- other symptoms that motivate the need to speak with a health care professional.
Traveling to your treating physician should be avoided and prior contact should be made with the health services, finding alternatives to travel (eg teleconsultation, remote prescription of medication).
In emergency situations requiring the activation of pre-hospital medical emergency means, the call operator must be informed of your quarantine or illness situation.
If you are quarantined or isolated by COVID-19, it is important to realize that many people with this disease develop only mild symptoms. In these cases, a complete recovery is expected without the need for much medical intervention. However, if you feel that your symptoms are increasing in severity you should immediately proceed as indicated above and do not hesitate.
